~VIDEO PREMIERE~
PFLAG New Orleans has been serving LGBTQ+ families in the Southeastern Louisiana area for 40 years. During that time, 500+ scholarships have been awarded to very gifted LGBTQ+ students in the state. One of those recipients, Sidney Alvarez, has pointed to his 1994 Scholarship as a critical part of his skyrocketing, Emmy-winning journalism career. Here is his story, as told by Mr. Alvarez.
Our work continues. PFLAG is here to support you, so you can support your LGBTQ+ loved ones. PFLAG Connects is a new virtual meeting space for the PFLAG Chapter Network. You can join by video, audio or chat - whatever you’re comfortable with. Currently, the virtual meetings are being held the second Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 PM.
We are hoping to resume monthly meetings in person on 7PM Thursday, July 14, in Metairie, at the Gates of Prayer.
PFLAG offers peer support that is available at no cost and is open to all who wish to participate. All of our groups are led and facilitated by PFLAG New Orleans volunteers. Safety is of our utmost priority for all of our virtual support group meetings. We will discuss privacy, confidentiality, and group agreements at the start of the meeting.
Please send us an email (by clicking on the green button) to let us know who will attend the meeting. Once you submit this Email, we will send you a reply with instructions on how to join the group.

PFLAG meetings are confidential. What you hear and who you see are confidential--even if there is a different format than our regular meetings. That includes not repeating things you hear, sharing details on social media, or taking photos/screenshots/video of the meetings.
